  "textContent": "The method for the occupant hazard-relevant activating of occupant protection devices in a motor vehicle in the event of a crash entails the sensing and processing of signatures generated by actions on the body of the vehicle by a crash sensor system (1), evaluating the processed signatures or values derived from it by means of a crash algorithm allocated to a trigger system (4), and releasing the crash-relevant occupant protection devices (3,3',3\",3\"') at a defined time point when an occupant hazard threshold value is exceeded. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) a device for occupant hazard-relevant activating of occupant protection devices by the application of a crash sensor system consisting of at least three similar-type multi-functional peripheral crash sensors (2,2',2\") installed at different places on the body of the vehicle; (B) a crash sensor for the proposed device connected to the body of the vehicle; and (C) a motor vehicle with a device for occupant hazard-relevant activating of occupant protection devices.",
