A lighting unit for a vehicle, especially a goods vehicle, comprises a transparent cover containing at least one headlamp (2,3,4) and at least one light-conductive element (5) connected to a light source. In the vehicle the horizontal extension of the light conductor is horizontally above or below the headlights.
