A vehicle seat and method for adjusting the vehicle seat uses a hinge mechanism (), a guide mechanism (), and a single actuation device () designed to function selectively either in a backrest control mode, acting on the blocking device () in order to move the blocking device () towards the release position, or in a track () control mode, acting on the locking device () in order to move the locking device () towards the unlocking position.
