A head-protecting airbag apparatus (10; 210), where an airbag body (16; 116; 216; 316) expanding in a curtain shape is disposed in a folded state along a roof side rail (28) across at least a center pillar (18), has the airbag body (16; 116; 216; 316) including at least one of a bellows-folded portion (116D; 227; 327A) and a rolled-up portion; an inflator (14) for generating gas; a gas guide tube (217) connecting the gas introducing path (225; 325) and the inflator (14) to each other, wherein the bellows-folded portion (116D; 227; 327A) or rolled-up portion is provided at its upper portion (16D; 16H; 116D) with a generally linear gas introducing path (225; 325) formed in only a region corresponding to a portion of the airbag body (16; 116; 216; 316) positioned below the roof side rail (28), and provided with a plurality of inflating chambers whose upper portions (16D; 16H; 116D) communicating with the gas introducing path (225; 325) and which extend generally downwardly; the apparatus further comprising a guide member (50) for guiding the airbag body (16; 116; 216; 316) when the airbag inflates and; and straps (37A, 37B), one ends of which are respectively connected to a lower and front end and a lower and rear end of the airbag body (16; 116; 216; 316), the other ends thereof being fixed to portions of a vehicle body.
