Method and system for the protection of fuel nozzles in a gas turbine engine

DRIVE December 14, 2005
Source
The method involves injecting compressed air in a fuel supply circuit of a fuel injector (7), when a turbine engine (1) is stopped and fuel supply to fuel injection heads of the injector is stopped. The compressed air is injected directly and uniquely in each non-supplied fuel injection head in the downstream of check valves of the injection heads and disposed on inner fuel pipes of the injector. An independent claim is also included for a turbine engine comprising a system for protecting a fuel injector.
