The transporting protection for cable ends (7) on spring struts (1) of motor vehicles has a flat blank (11) attached to the spring strut at the point where the cable end emerges from the piston rod (5), and by fastening points is mounted on corresponding fastening points of the spring strut. The distance between two oppositely disposed fastening points is selected to be greater than the spacing (d) of the corresponding fastening points on the spring strut. The blank is made preferably from cardboard but can be made from other materials.
