Steering column switch lever for a vehicle

The steering column lever (4) of a steering column module of a motor vehicle has a lighting element (10) for the lighting of a desired area inside the vehicle. An area of a dashboard (8), especially a light switch, may be illuminated by the lighting element, or an area of the foot well, especially a device for the adjusting of the seat. The lighting element may illuminate side regions of the vehicle such as a window lifter and/or door handle.
