Switching device

The switch unit (20) for the electrically switching of an electric consumer, especially for a reversing light which is electrically connected to a transmission (22), is integrated in plug-in connector housing (21) which is installed between a transmission cable loom (12) and vehicle cable loom (13). The plug-in connector housing is sealed against the environment. The switch unit is embedded in a sealing mass. The switch unit may be an electromagnetic relay or a semi-conductor constructional element.
