The post injection is supplied after-injected amount of fuel having additional combustion air, which does not originate from the original cylinder and supplied separately. The additional combustion air is supplied totally or partly during a valve overlap phase, with both intake valves and the exhaust valves opened, due to a positive pressure gradient made available.",
