Aircraft and fuel venting system therefor

An aircraft comprising a plurality of fuel tanks (1-4) in each wing (7) is arranged such that each fuel tank (1-4) is provided with a venting pipe (11-14) connected to a single venting chamber (6). The venting chamber (6) is itself located in a central fuel tank (4) located in the wing centre-box and is thus located inwardly of at least two of the fuel tanks (1-3). The venting chamber (6) has two venting pipes (15, 25) each being connected via a respective surge tank (5) in each wing to the exterior of the aircraft.
