Sliding door for vehicle

The door has a locking unit (8) that locks the sliding door, which is supported along a guide way of a motor vehicle, with respect to the guide way. The door is lockable in its moving path in different positions by the locking unit. A control unit (12) is provided, which is activated by an operator to generate a signal on the locking unit, such that end locking or locking of the locking unit is effected.
