An automotive piston engine has a fuel supply with a cover strip having a series of outlet points for fuel injection valves. Each outlet incorporates a self-acting shut-off valve. The valve is opened at the seat against the action of a spring by insertion of the fuel injection valve and is closed by subsequent removal of the valve. The valve is a snap-fitting.
