Paneling part for a surface of a motor vehicle body is designed as a matting (11) made of fibrous fleece with at least a first and a second matting section (12, 13) that are interconnected. At least the first matting section has in the connecting region (14) with the second matting section at least one separating layer (15) that reaches through the matting edge. The second matting section in the connecting region reaches through the separating layer. The matting edge of at least the first or second matting section is designed as a bonded edge (23) at least in the connecting region. Preferred Features: The bonded edge is a pressed edge in which fibrous fleece is compressed.
