The module has an antitheft system (3) which connects assembly of photovoltaic cells (2) with two output power terminals (4, 5). The system has a switch (8) that neutralizes power available in the output of the terminals. The system is supplied permanently by electric current either from the assembly or from a battery. The module is rendered non-operational by the switch while supply to the system is interrupted. An independent claim is also included for a photovoltaic assembly comprising a photovoltaic module.
