The suspension and damping system for motor vehicles comprises a cylinder (2), in which a piston (6) is mounted, dividing it into two chambers. The upper chamber (10) is filled with hydraulic fluid (HM) and is connected to a chamber filled with elastically compressible fluid (FM). The lower chamber (12) is filled with damping fluid (DM).
