The vent has a body (7) forming an air duct which presents an outlet for coinciding with an opening of a wall of a dashboard. The duct defines a nominal direction (X-X) for flow of air. A set of orientable fins (11, 11A) is pivotably mounted inside the duct. A hump (21) is arranged for partially projecting from the body in a manner to extend a part of the duct beyond the outlet. An independent claim is also included for a dashboard for a motor vehicle.
