An electrical junction box (10) for a vehicle receives electrical connectors (60) in connector housing sockets (14) on a casing (11, 12). The sockets (14) are arranged adjacent one another in a two-dimensional array extending in perpendicular directions (X, Y). There are first and second connector housing sockets (14A, 14B) each having a misplacement prevention element or elements (14A-1, 14B-1), such as recesses, for avoiding misplacement of the connectors in the sockets. The misplacement prevention elements (14A-1) of the first sockets (14A) are of different form in shape and/or position from those elements (14B-1) of the second sockets (14B). The connectors (60) comprise first and second connectors (60A, 60B) also having misplacement prevention elements (61A, 61B), such as ribs, complementary in shape and position to those of the sockets (14A, 14B), whereby the first connectors can be fitted into said first sockets and cannot be fitted into said second sockets, and vice versa. The sockets (14) are arranged in the array such that each first socket (14A) is next to at least one of the second sockets (14B) in both the perpendicular directions (X, Y) of the array.
