Vehicle door comprising a window frame in shell construction

The frame (1) serves as the upper border for the submersible window (2) and touches the roof frame (3) of the vehicle when the door is closed. It is assembled of an inner and an outer shell (4, 5) made of sheet metal, both provided with upper (6) and lower flanges (7) for being joined. A sealing element (8) guided around the window (2) is attached to the upper flange (6) pointing to the front and is hidden behind a decorative cover. The sealing element positioned between the door frame and the window frame is hidden behind the backwards pointing lower flange.
