Electrically controlled pneumatic braking system for a vehicle

An electrically controlled pneumatic brake unit for a vehicle comprises an air pressure-operated brake cylinder (11,21,), at least one cylinder having a sprung store (31,41), at least one electrically controllable brake circuit and a spare pneumatic controllable circuit. The vehicle is gradually braked through the brake pedal (4) in case of electrical failure.
