Method and device for computing a target speed for an aircraft

DRIVE August 17, 2005
Source
The method involves determining an effective distance between a current position of an aircraft and a particular flying point. Aircraft deceleration and acceleration times are determined from respective convergence curves. The curves are different and form a convergence cone that is asymmetrical and presents different values according to which the aircraft is in delay or in advance with respect to time constraints. An independent claim is also included for an aircraft with a device for calculating a threshold speed of an aircraft e.g. flight, for military transport.
