Rolling-lobe air spring with electrical power supply
DRIVE
July 27, 2005
The electrical power supply for a rolling-lobe type air spring (2), has at least one piezo electric element (12) to apply electrical energy to the outer surface of the rolling piston (8), at the rolling zone of the roll bellows (4) near the bellows fold (4a). Preferably a number of piezo electric elements, or a packet of a piezo electric film, form a generator belt around the piston within a recessed groove. The piezo elements are connected in parallel to increase the electrical energy supply power and/or to reduce the source impedance. At least one piezo element is secured in a holder or is embedded within an elastomer.
