The air-fuel mixture is directly injected from the intake valve openings 3e which are opened during fuel injection of the injector 11 into a cylinder bore 2b to generate the air motion. As a result, it is possible to reduce the amount of fuel adhering to wall surfaces without causing worsening of combustion characteristics and improve exhaust gas conditions and throttle responsivity.",
