The present invention provides an inflator for a side collision in which an inflation condition for an air bag can be adjusted according to a variety of builds of passengers and further size reduction can be achieved. Gas discharging ports are provided at axial both sides of an inflator having two igniters, and a total opening area of gas ejecting ports formed at axial one side is made different from a total opening area of gas ejecting ports formed at the axial other side .
