The device has a controller (20) at the access, a portable identification device (22) with the user (32) and transmission, reception and/or transceiver units for wireless low and high frequency communications between the controller and identification device. An identification communication between the controller and identification device can be activated for HF communications of different operating modes (wide range and close range) depending on the type of triggering.
