The motor vehicle's climate control system with non-engine dependent heating for operating of the system from an external power supply while the engine is stopped has a device for the switching between a first power supply with a first voltage and an external second power supply with a second voltage. The first power supply provides a DC voltage from the vehicle's electrical system and the second power supply provides an external AC voltage. An independent claim is included for a method for the operating of a motor vehicle's climate control system in which a non-engine dependent heater is connected directly to an external power supply when the vehicle's engine has stopped.
