Trailer hitch

The trailer coupling for motor vehicles has a coupling arm (5) with an actuating device (9) which acts upon a rotational axis member via a rotational bearing. The bearing head (7) to which the coupling arm is connected is fitted and guided in a housing (8) and has a fitting piece installed outside the rotational bearing. By means of the actuating device the fitting piece is pressed into a mating holder (10) fixed on the coupling housing so that it is torsionally fixed therein. The bearing head during its withdrawal and opposite insertion into the holder abuts by a stop (38) provided on it against a stop (37) fixed on the housing to tilt the latter stop, forming in both directions a tilt axis (41) parallel to the axial line of the rotational axis member so that the rotational axis member is rotated in the rotational bearing and the coupling arm is pivoted from its in-use position to the side or vice versa.
