The cylinder head (1) has several screw pipes for the fastening of the cylinder head to the cylinder casing, and several outer walls which define the cylinder head. The screw pipes (3) and the outer walls (2) are enclosed by a frame structure (4) which is an annular hollow profile encompassing the cylinder head, and which may be cast in one piece with the cylinder head. The frame structure is connected directly to the screw pipes or via cast ribs (5).
