The vehicle conduit (1), to carry cables and the like, is fitted with a sound absorber (2) of a nonwoven fiber fabric and/or porous material, as an acoustic damper. The material is a flat section, bent into a number of folds (7-12), forming a packet which can be within a shrouding. The gap (14) between the folds, and the fold peak heights (15) are set so that the acoustic damper material is in contact with the inner wall of the conduit. The folds are fixed (16) mechanically in position.
