An inflated airbag has a deep channel-shaped indent (16) not filled with pressurized gas and extending towards an inflation/injection opening (23). Between the indent and a peripheral side (14) there is a toroidal chamber (24) filled with pressurized gas. Away from the start of the indent on the front side, there is a flexible sealing part (26) linked section-by-section to an outer wall.
