Lock with releasable dog

Lock for a lid (6) comprises a lock housing (10) arranged in the lid, a handle (12) rotatably mounted in the lock housing and manually pivoted between a retracted position and an extended position to raise/lower the lid, and a locking tongue (14) displaceably mounted in the lock housing and moved by the handle from a locking position locking the lid to a wall against the action of a restoring spring (20) into an unlocking position releasing the lid. A locking device (22) locks the locking tongue in the unlocking position when the lid is raised and releases the locking tongue when the lid is replaced.
