Method and device for monitoring a fuel pressure sensor
DRIVE
April 27, 2005
The fuel pressure sensor (58) is located in a fuel accumulator (55) of an engine with fuel pumps (51,54) and injection valves (34). A temporary change in the fuel pressure determined by the sensor is compared to a temporary change in an estimated fuel pressure, and a sensor error is recognized dependent upon the comparison. The change in the estimated pressure is calculated dependent upon a fuel volume supplied by the injection valves, and a fuel volume supplied by the pump into the tank. The comparison is carried out only, when the change in actual fuel pressure exceeds a set value.
