Air conditioner, in particular for a vehicle

The device is positioned near a dashboard (12) between engine and vehicle interior. It has air guide channels, heat exchanger (14), heater (16), and pivoted control flaps (18). At least some parts of the air channels are formed as integral components of the dashboard. The dashboard has support tubes formed as air channels, and a seat to hold the modular air conditioner (10). The heater is positioned above the heat exchanger. The dashboard is of steel plate, aluminum plate, or a compound material.
