Method for monitoring events in a motor vehicle

The fault event monitoring method uses a processor for calculation of the fault events dependent on automobile parameters, with differentiation between safety critical and non-critical fault events, the critical fault events indicated immediately and the indication of the non-critical fault events delayed until the next maintenance service of the automobile. The non-critcal faults are indicated if the due maintenance service is missed.
