Method and device to increase the pressure of gases

Process for raising the pressure of a gas comprises compressing the gas using a compressor (1) in a first storage unit (A) in a first phase, and compressing the gas with the same compressor from the first storage unit in a second storage unit (B) in a second phase. An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process. Preferred Features: The gas is compressed with the same compressor in a third storage unit in a third phase. The gas is compressed in both storage units simultaneously in the first phase. The storage units have different volumes and compression strengths.
