Data processing unit for driver assistance device and method for providing current fusioned situation data

Data-processing unit for assistance devices (6a, 6b) in motor vehicles has an input interface for road system data (1) and an input interface for environmental data (2) from environment sensors. The data-processing unit also has elements for amalgamating the road system data and the environmental data to update, modify and/or supplement the road system data with the environmental data and/or to modify the environmental data using the road system data. An output interface supplies at least one assistance device with the combined road system and environmental data as amalgamated situation data (3) in a uniform data protocol. An independent claim is also included for a process for supplying updated amalgamated situation data to at least one assistance device in a motor vehicle.
