The process involves integrating a braking device with a pedal of a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle. The integral connection between the pedal and device is verified to be effective by moving the device by a distance from the compartment to drive the pedal through a braking rod (38) and to move a provisional retaining device (50) from one position to another. The braking device is fixed to a firewall of the vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a provisional retaining device of a pedal.
