Process and facility for manufacturing an edged layered product

The process comprises the following steps: a) at least one layer intended for constituting a substrate (100) and at least one lining layer (200) intended for being the lining of the face of the product are introduced in a press (300); b) pressure and heat are appiied on the iayers in the press for the purpose of obtaining an assembly of layers bound together; c) a fluid, for example, steam, is applied on at least one predetermined area of the assembly of layers; d) one part of the lining layer (200) is separated from the substrate (100) in said area; e) the substrate is trimmed such that a trimmed edge (100a, 100b) is obtained in said area; f) said trimmed edge (100a, 100b) is covered with the lining layer (200). The invention also refers to a facility for carrying out the process.
