An improved mounting for an adjustable rear seat in a vehicle has a kinematic lever each side of the seat frame and linking the seat anchorage with the squab support frame and the seat back frame. The lever is pivot mounted on the anchorage plate via a peg and slot (13, 14) fitting and has a pivot connection (9) with the seat squab frame. A pin and slot coupling (10, 15, 16) connects the bottom part of the seat back frame, which has a fixed horizontal tilt axis at the top of the frame. The user is able to adjust the fore and aft setting of the seat, with tilt adjustment for the seat back, without reducing the strength of the seat frame.
