method of recognizing and controlling vehicle functions

The method involves contacting a user with a switch or activating the switch to control functions. Contact or activation of the switch is detected to activate an identification unit of the switch, where the activation of the switch is audible by the user. The activated switch and the functions are recognized to control the activation/deactivation of the functions selected and associated with the switch. An independent claim is also included for a motor vehicle having a device for implementing a method of controlling functions of the vehicle.
