Middle armrest for motor vehicles

The centrally positioned front seat armrest (1) is used in a road vehicle. It is mounted on a base or support (11) fastened to the vehicle bodywork. It has a headpiece (9) which may swivel about a first horizontal axis (13) transverse to the vehicle centerline. A second swivel joint on the headpiece allows rotation of the armrest to bring to the top an armrest covering (3) or receptacles (5) for drinks cups etc.
