Negative electrode for non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery, production method thereof and non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery

A negative electrode capable of giving a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery which has high capacity, long cycle life and excellent safety, and exhibits an excellent cycle characteristic even when charging/deep-discharging are repeated. The negative electrode comprises a current collector sheet and an active material layer deposited on the surface of the current collector sheet, wherein the active material layer comprises SiOsatisfying: 0.7 ≦ x ≦ 1.3, and does not include a binder. The current collector sheet may comprise a resin core layer and a metal layer coating the surface of said resin core layer.
