Airbag module

An airbag (10) capsule splits into three chambers inflated one after the other in a time sequence. A first lower chamber (20) to be inflated protects a passenger's pelvic area and links via a first delaying device (DD) (28) to an upper chamber (UC) (22) for protecting the passenger's thorax. A third chamber (24) inflates in turn and links to the UC via a second DD (32).
