High frequency radio system for vehicles

The apparatus includes a high frequency transceiver unit provided with at least two transmitting/receiving antennas arranged at different locations on the motor vehicle for communication with a mobile transponder. The transmission/reception operation of the apparatus is performed selectively with one of the antennas or with two or more of them. The antennas are connected together via a power splitter, such as a 3 dB hybrid.
