Method and device for checking of pneumatic and/or hydraulic brakes of railroad vehicles

Method for testing pneumatic and or hydraulic brakes of rolling stock in which the brakes of each carriage of a train are simultaneously activated with the train stationary, the braking pressures are measured and displayed in the driver's cab and the train is then accelerated to a test speed which is below the operational speed. Dynamic brake testing is initiated with activation of all brakes and the braking distance and train speeds are then measured to permit calculation and display of a theoretical braking distance at a different given operating speed. An independent claim is made for a device for testing pneumatic and or hydraulic brakes of rolling stock that comprises a central data processing unit in the drivers cabin, data processing units in each carriage or truck, display means and instrumentation.
