Method and system for outputting traffic data to a driver of a vehicle

A method for outputting traffic data to a driver of a vehicle comprises the steps of providing location data of a traffic area in a computer system, allocating attribute data to data of the location data for generating traffic data comprising location data and allocated attribute data, wherein the step of allocating the attribute data to data of the location data is at least initiated by the driver, storing the generated traffic data, and outputting the generated traffic data and/or traffic data determined by the computer system in dependence on the generated traffic data to a driver of a vehicle. A system for providing traffic data to a driver of a vehicle comprises means for providing location data of a traffic area, allocating means for allocating location attribute data to data of the location data, storage means for storing the generated traffic data comprising the data of the location data and the allocated location attribute data, and output means for outputting the generated traffic data and/or traffic data determined in dependence of the generated traffic data to a driver.
