Latch device

A display apparatus body (4) is provided with a latch section (210,211) having projection sections (210,211) to be fitted into the recessed section (214) formed in the display section (6). This latch section has an upper latch (210) and a lower latch (211) configured so as to engage each other with balls (212) held therebetween, and when the upper latch is pressed by the display section and moves, the lower latch engaging the balls also moves. When the lower latch is pressed by the display section and moves, the balls roll inside the slots in the upper latch, whereby the upper latch is configured so as to move after the lower latch has moved by a predetermined distance.
