Vehicle roof module

The motor vehicle roof panel has an exterior skin under which is a foam backing. The foam layer has a thin perforated metal panel embedded in the foam. The metal panel has a surface extending over at least ninety percent of the area of the exterior skin. The metal panel can extend from the edges of the roof panel.
