Pyrotechnic gas damper with modulated effect

The system has a pyrotechnic gas generator (5), and a sliding piston (7) displaced in a damping chamber (2). The generator (5) liberates gas into the chamber (2) for damping the piston (7). The gas generator (5) delivers a variable quantity of gas. The damping chamber (2) has a pressure regulating device (4) which is activated beyond a threshold pressure. A secondary chamber separates the chamber (2) and the generator (5). An independent claim is also included for a shock absorbing process.
