Liquid separator

Disclosed is a liquid separator for separating a heavier fraction from a lighter fraction in a liquid flow of a mixture of the heavier fraction and the lighter fraction. The separator has an inlet region (19), a separation chamber (2) and a flow dispersion member (17). The flow dispersion member is located between the inlet region and the separation chamber. The flow dispersion member has a plurality of flow channels formed through it so as to provide, in use, a plurality of flow paths between the inlet region and the separation chamber.
