The method involves rotating an engine in a direction opposite to the engines normal rotation direction, such that a push-rod (8) moves back beyond a distance (d) corresponding to a set of normal operation between the push rod and a disc assembly (5). The push-rod moves back sufficiently to permit mounting of a new disc assembly for replacing the used disc assembly.
